Old Amsterdam receives Superior Taste Award
In Brussels, on Thursday 28 May 2009, the Dutch cheese brand Old Amsterdam was awarded the prestigious Superior Taste Award. This international quality award is issued by the International Taste & Quality Institute (ITQI) and is the Michelin star of the food & beverage industry. Old Amsterdam is the only Dutch cheese to have received this award.

Spanish taste award for Old Amsterdam
Old Amsterdam has won an important taste prize in Spain. The fastest growing cheese brand in the Netherlands has been declared Sabor del Aņo 2010 (Taste of the Year 2010).
The glorious history of Westland Cheese Specialties
After the Zuiderzee was closed off in 1932 the brothers Klaas, Gerrit, and Lambert Westland, who had always been fishermen, had to find another source of income.
They each decided to start peddling cheese independently in the Catholic south of the Netherlands.
