Trenta

Trenta is a good choice for vegetarians and for those who are paying attention to cholesterol levels in their diet. In this cheese animal milk fats have been replaced for three quarters by vegetable fats. This makes Trenta rich in unsaturated fats and it contains 75% less cholesterol. Because the cheese is curdled with vegetable rennet it has also been approved by the Dutch Vegetarian Association.
Trenta is mainly sold in Spain and Italy. In the Nederlands, Trenta is not readily available. Only a few cheese specialty stores carry Trenta.
